Garcia Library Policy & Procedures
Hours of operation
Open every day
Morning hours- 8:05-8:30 AM-(Unless closed for a club meeting)
During lunch- Only closed for lunch if there is a lesson in the library a closed will be posted
Librarian lunch- 1:30-2:00
Closed after school
Library book check out & material request
- students who have a clear library record may check out 3 library books keeping them for 2 weeks & may renew once
- Garcia staff are allowed to check out items & keep until the end of the year.
- If you need the librarian to pull books for your team or class please give 24 hours' notice.
Admittance
- students need a library pass in order to visit the library without his or her class.
- There is a limit of 2 students per class; each should have a library pass. Students must sign in and out of the laptop when they enter and leave.
- ALL STUDENTS MUST CHECK IN with her or his teacher before coming to the library. Students are not accepted during passing period.
- Gladiators may visit during lunch; if you are at lunch you must eat lunch first and ask for a library lunch pass from a cafeteria monitor.
- Advisory students may visit the library during lunch to exchange library books if and only the lunch crowd is not too large.
Computer use & printing
- Garcia library has eighteen desktop computers for students, and classes to use. Students who visit with a library pass during school are always welcome to work in the library computer lab area. If necessary All students are allowed to print 5 colored and black & white copies a day.
- Students are welcome to print before school and after school
- Teachers, if you are unable to print your students' work from your printer, please let me know when you are printing a folder of student work to library printers. I will expect your printouts and have my student aides walk over your prints.

Damaged Library Book Policy
A library book lost or damaged beyond repair (any kind of liquid damage will generally render a book totally damaged, please let the librarian know ASAP.
All Gladiators who let the librarian know as soon as the incident occurs:
Your librarian will take this into consideration when applying the damage fee to your child's student account.
