Program Details


NSITE High School provides unique learning experiences by fostering an entrepreneurial spirit of innovation and problem-solving through high quality instruction and a specialized curriculum focused on technology applications, business principles, and project-based learning.


NSITE students:

  • Earn Dual College Credit in Cybersecurity, Entrepreneurship & Computer Programming
  • Learn to start and promote your own business through courses focused on Social Media, Business Management, Accounting, and Entrepreneurship
  • NSITE Senior Entrepreneurs partner with technology students in a senior capstone course in which they create and run a virtual business
  • Earn an Entrepreneurship Small Business certification
  • Learn programming languages like C++, Python, Java, JavaScript, and HTML and take them through the complete software lifecycle of planning, designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining program applications
  • Earn IT Specialist in Python, Java or Javascript, IT Fundamentals+
  • Apply computer science to solve problems through the development of algorithms and programs
  • Earn industry recognized certifications such as ITF+, Network+, and Security+
  • Get hands-on experience building, configuring, and operating an on-site local area network
  • Learn to mitigate cyberattacks by applying preventative measures and searching for risks within an organization

The Northside School of Innovation, Technology, and Entrepreneurship (NSITE), located on the Holmes High School campus, is the stateโ€™s premier business and technology magnet school. In this technology-rich, college preparatory program, each student is issued a laptop computer enabling them to expand the learning environment beyond the traditional classroom.

Application Timeline


  • November 18, 2024: Online application opens
  • January 21, 2025: Deadline to submit applications
  • January 31, 2025:  Acceptance/waitlist letters emailed
  • February 7, 2025: Deadline for families to accept/decline

Magnet Fairs


  • December 2, 2024
  • Northside Sports Gym, 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
    • Shuttle service begins at 5:30 p.m. from Hobby and Rudder, with additional service from Zachry Middle School to the Northside Sports Gym.
       
  • December 9, 2024: 
  • Paul Taylor Field House for High School Magnets, 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
  • Northside Activity Center for Middle School Magnets, 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
    • Shuttle service starts at 5:30 p.m. from Ross and Neff, with additional shuttles from Rayburn, Jones, and Pease to the Paul Taylor Field House.
    • A shuttle will run from the Paul Taylor Field House stadium parking lot to the Northside Activity Center for families in need of assistance.
