Scobee Library

The Scobee Library is open Mon, Wed-Fri 7:15-3:00 and Tues 7:30-3:00. The library is closed daily for lunch duty & lunch 11:25-12:25.

Grades K-5th grade come to the library as part of their Discovery time, Days 5-8. Classes can sign up to come at additional times for lessons and/or projects as needed. Students can return and check out books on any day.

Pk-Kinder: 1 book

1st Grade: 1 book in the fall, 2 in the spring

2nd-5th: 2 books

Parents may create library accounts and check out up to 5 items at a time. Print the form HERE or get one from the library. Parents can come on daily 7:15-7:30 or after 3:15.

Celebrate your child’s birthday by donating a book to the Scobee Elementary School Library in his/her honor. Your child will choose from a great selection of new, popular titles available in the library for their Birthday Book. The cost is $15.00 to participate. Payments can be made with cash in the main office or library.

Thank you so much for supporting this library fundraiser! Proceeds go towards purchasing books for the library and paying for author visits.

How the program works:

• Complete and return form below with payment to the Scobee Library or main office at least THREE weeks before your child’s birthday. The Book Birthday Club program ends for this school year on Friday, April 16th, 2027. (You can turn this in as soon as you want, you don’t have to wait for your child’s birthday)
• The book your student selects will feature a special bookplate with your child’s name and birthday. The book will be presented to your child at the end of their birthday month, and they will be the first student to check it out from the library. A picture of your child with their selected book will be placed on the bulletin board outside the library, and the book will become a part of our library collection for all students to check out and read!
• Your student will also receive an extra checkout from the library for the full school year as soon as you turn in the form/money. This form can be turned in as soon as you wish. You don’t have to wait until your child’s birthday month.
• SUMMER birthdays: May birthdays will be celebrated in April to allow students the opportunity to read their books before the end of the school year. June & July birthdays are celebrated during the student’s half-birthday (December-February). August birthdays will be celebrated during the first few weeks of school or as a half-birthday (in February).
