Extracurriculars

Solar Cars, sponsored by NISD, is a tuition based after school enrichment program for 4th and 5th grade students. This club meets one hour after school for 8 sessions during the spring semester. Using engineering skills and basic principles of physics, students will work on a team to design and create a solar powered car. They have the opportunity to show off their hard work in April when participants across the district come together to compete at the annual racing competition held at Gustafson Stadium.

Young Astronauts, sponsored by NISD, is a tuition based after school enrichment program for 4th and 5th grade students. This club meets one hour after school for 8 sessions during the spring semester. Students will explore a variety of space topics, design and create a Mars colony, use augmented reality to visit each planet and these are just a few of the activities. The highlight of this group is meeting at a local park with the San Antonio Astronomical Association for an evening of stargazing for participants and their families.
