Library Hours:
8:00 a.m.-3:50 p.m. Mon-Fri
(Access will vary due to classes, duty, meetings, etc.)
Book Check-Out
Books are circulated for three weeks. You may check out up to four items at a time. If you have an overdue item, additional checkouts will be limited until the item is returned. Should you lose or damage a library item, NISD Board policy states that you will be required to pay for that item; we accept cash or check. Credit card payments can be made via the My School Bucks app. All fines and fees should be settled by the end of the semester.
Parent Access
Parents and guardians are always welcome in their child’s school library! Campus librarians can help you:
- Explore the online catalog
- Set up an account to check out books
- Learn about resources that support your student’s interests and academic needs

Meet Your Librarian
My name is Paige Fosmire, and I’m thrilled to introduce myself as the new librarian at Straus Middle School. This is my 20th year in education, and for the past 12 years, I’ve served as a middle school librarian right here in NISD at Stinson Middle School. I’m passionate about connecting students with great books, supporting lifelong learning, and helping them grow into curious, confident readers.
I love reading historical fiction, exploring new places with my family, and discovering fun ways to bring learning to life. I’m truly excited to get to know our students and be part of the incredible Straus community!
