Library Hours:
8:00 a.m.-3:50 p.m. Mon-Fri
(Access will vary due to classes, duty, meetings, etc.)
Book Check-Out
Books are circulated for three weeks. You may check out up to four items at a time. If you have an overdue item, additional checkouts will be limited until the item is returned. Should you lose or damage a library item, NISD Board policy states that you will be required to pay for that item; we accept cash or check. Credit card payments can be made via the My School Bucks app. All fines and fees should be settled by the end of the semester.
Parent Access
Parents and guardians are always welcome in their child’s school library! Campus librarians can help you:
- Explore the online catalog
- Set up an account to check out books
- Learn about resources that support your student’s interests and academic needs

Meet Your Librarian
My name is Paige Fosmire, and I’m proud to serve as the librarian at Straus Middle School. This is my 21st year in education and my 14th year as a middle school librarian in NISD. Before joining the Straus community, I spent 12 years as the librarian at Stinson Middle School.
I’m passionate about connecting students with books they love, supporting their research and learning needs, and helping them grow into curious, confident, lifelong readers. In the library, students have opportunities to explore new interests, strengthen their skills, participate in engaging activities, and discover all that the library has to offer.
Outside of school, I enjoy reading historical fiction, traveling and exploring new places with my family, and finding creative ways to bring learning to life.
