About Your Librarian
Hello!
Mrs.Taylor has been the librarian at Timberwilde Elementary since 2007. She received her master’s degree in Library and Information Science from the University of North Texas. She has taught middle school science, math, reading, language arts, fourth grade, and was an inclusion teacher for grades 1-8 at various times, but her favorite place to be is the library!
Mrs.Taylor grew up in Houston and along the Gulf coast. She and her family have lived in San Antonio for over 20 years now. Her husband is also a teacher, and their daughters graduated from Northside several years ago. Students visit the library once a week to check-out books. Please help your student remember to put his/ her library books back in their backpack the night before their library day. Reading just 20-30 minutes each evening will change your child’s life! Even big kids enjoy reading with a parent.
Fines for late books The library does not have fines for late books, but students with late books will not be able to check out more books until the late books are returned. This protects you from having to pay for lots of lost books. Students must pay for books that are lost or damaged beyond repair. The library purchases specially bound, extra-durable books when possible, so the price quoted for a replacement may be more than the same book with a weaker binding.
Our most common cause of a ruined book is a water bottle leaking in the backpack. Students have been told to put the water bottle on the outside of the backpack (or hold it) to protect their library books.
Library Parent Hours Parents: Did you know you can set up an account and check out five books for you and your child to enjoy at home? If you would like to set up a parent account, come to the library. Parent hours are Monday-Thursday from 2:35-2:55 p.m. (A class meets on Friday during that time.) If you would like to set up a time earlier in the day, please email Mrs. Taylor to work that out.
