Emily Giehll, a 5th grade student at Lewis ES, is the Grand Prize winner in the 2021 Texas Cavaliers River Parade Art Contest. As grand prize winner, Emily will receive $5,000 for her school’s art program. Her art teacher is Lila Owens.
Other finalists and runners-up from NISD included:

· Marcus David, 5th grade, Fields ES, finalist in non-City Council district, art teacher Laura Hoffman
· Charlotte Perez, 5th grade, Brauchle ES, runner-up in District 6, art teacher Renee Porter
· Allyson Bunegin, 4th grade, Lewis ES, runner-up in District 4, teacher Lila Owens
Finalists receive $3,000 for their school art programs and runners-up receive $1,000. Altogether, NISD will receive $13,000 for elementary art programs.
