NISD welcomes two new campuses this school year

New NISD School Principals

Two new campuses will join the NISD school family this year with the opening of Joey Tomlinson Elementary School and Joe Straus III Middle School.

Final touches are being made on the buildings, the last of the teachers are being hired, furniture and supplies are being delivered, and two special principals are eagerly awaiting the first day of school on Aug. 23.

Wendy Tiemann is in her 30th year in education and is no stranger to leading a campus. She has served the past five years as principal of Timberwilde Elementary School.  She will now serve as the principal of the District’s 81st elementary school, Tomlinson Elementary School located off of Galm Road, across from Folks Middle School.

Gilbert-Perry has a total of 21 years working in public education, 18 of those years in NISD. Straus Middle School is located off FM471 on Talley Road, across from Harlan High School.
