Dr. Longoria began his career in education in 2003 as an English teacher at Somerset Junior High School. In 2006, he joined Pease Middle School, where he taught English Language Arts and built lasting relationships with students, families, and colleagues. After leaving Pease in 2017 to serve as Assistant Principal at Connally Middle School, he continued his leadership journey as Academic Dean at Jefferson Middle School, where he spent the past five years supporting instructional excellence, student achievement, and campus leadership.
With more than 20 years of experience in education, Dr. Longoria believes that every student deserves a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment where they can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. He is committed to fostering a positive campus culture built on strong relationships, high expectations, and meaningful collaboration with students, staff, families, and the community.
As Principal, Dr. Longoria is excited to build upon Pease Middle School's proud traditions while working alongside the campus community to create new opportunities for every student to learn, lead, and succeed. He looks forward to partnering with families and celebrating the accomplishments of the Bulldogs throughout the school year.

Dear Pease Family,
It is an honor to join the Pease community as your new Associate Principal. With thirteen years of classroom experience and fourteen years in educational administration, I am excited to become part of a school that is deeply committed to student success. I am passionate about fostering a positive school culture, building meaningful relationships, and supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth of every student.
Most recently, I served as Assistant Principal at Clark High School, where I collaborated closely with teachers, counselors, families, and the attendance team to support student achievement and well-being. Prior to that, I was the Title I Academic Program Coordinator at John Jay High School, working alongside a dedicated leadership team to strengthen instructional practices, celebrate success, and improve campus culture. I also served for six years as Associate Principal and Academic Dean at Northside Alternative High School, where I supervised a diverse faculty and supported students from across Northside ISD.
As a servant leader, I value collaboration, accountability, and trust. I believe that strong schools are built through authentic relationships, open communication, and a shared commitment to helping every student thrive. My open-door philosophy reflects my commitment to listening, learning, and working alongside students, staff, families, and the community to create a positive and supportive learning environment. I believe all students can succeed when provided with high expectations, strong systems of support, and caring adults who believe in their potential.
I am truly excited to join the Pease family and look forward to getting to know our students, families, and staff. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as your Associate Principal and am committed to honoring Pease's tradition of excellence while working together to promote growth, opportunity, and success for every student.

Susan SchottlerAcademic DeanHello, My name is Susan Schottler,
I am honored to serve the Pease community and bring 25 years of experience in education, having worked with students and staff at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. Throughout my career in Northside ISD, I have served as a teacher at Jones Middle School, an administrative intern at Rudder Middle School, Associate Principal at Lieck Elementary School, and most recently as Academic Dean at Bernal Middle School.
I earned my bachelor's degree from St. Mary's University and later my master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership to further strengthen my ability to serve students, educators, and school communities.
As an instructional leader, I believe every student deserves a supportive, engaging learning environment where they can grow academically and personally. I am passionate about partnering with teachers to strengthen instruction, using data to guide continuous improvement, and fostering a collaborative culture built on trust, high expectations, and meaningful relationships. My leadership is grounded in both transformational and servant leadership, with a focus on empowering others and ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed.
I look forward to partnering with our students, staff, and families to build on the strong traditions of Pease. Together, we will create an environment where every child is known, challenged, and inspired to reach their full potential.

Jessica BarreraAssistant PrincipalHello, my name is Jessica Barrera and I am honored to serve the Pease community as the Assistant Principal. I am a proud product of Northside ISD schools - I attended Galm Elementary, Jordan Middle School and Taft High School. This is my twelfth year in education, all at the middle school level. I’ve taught 6th, 7th and 8th grade ELA and most recently served as the ELA Instructional Coach here at Pease for the past four years. I hold a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Counseling from Nelson University and UTSA. I strongly believe in supporting and empowering teachers and students so they can be the best versions of themselves in and out of the classroom. I am supported by my husband and family. And I may be a little obsessed with my niece. Most weekends I can be found on the couch with a good book and my French Bulldog, Frankie.
