Latia Bishop, principal of Steubing Elementary
Latia Bishop - Principal
I am honored to serve as Principal at Henry Steubing Elementary, where every day brings new opportunities to nurture young minds. Since 2003 I've worn many hats from special education teacher to Associate Principal, all within the Northside ISD family. My journey began as a dedicated teacher, a role I cherished for a decade. My academic background includes a Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Masters in Integrating Technology into the classroom, both fueling my passion for innovative instruction. Certified in general education, special education, English as a second language, and administration, I bring a diverse skill set to our community.

Beyond education, I'm a proud wife and mother, cherishing my role in nurturing my own family and our Steubing students alike. I hold high expectations for all, fostering an environment where each child can thrive. My philosophy centers on the unwavering belief in every student's potential, supported by a positive atmosphere, strong leadership, dedicated educators, involved community, and supportive families. It's a privilege to lead our talented team and guide our students toward a future filled with boundless possibilities.

Greetings Steubing Families, I am Brandon Tate, the newly appointed Associate Principal at Henry Steubing Elementary. I bring a diverse background in education within Northside ISD, having taught across various grade levels including 4th, 5th, 6th grade math, 8th grade math, and 8th grade history classrooms. Additionally, I've had the privilege of instructing pre-service teachers at the University of Texas at San Antonio for the last 7 years.

My educational journey includes a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from West Texas A&M University in Canyon, TX, a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership – all earned from the University of Texas at San Antonio (Birds up!). I am certified in principalship, superintendency, EC-4 generalist, 4-8 generalist, EC-12 physical education, EC-12 special education, 8-12 history, 8-12 social studies, as well as gifted and talented supplemental.

My educational philosophy is that I believe the bedrock of exceptional education is constructed upon the foundation of robust and meaningful relationships. Please feel welcome to reach out or visit at your convenience. I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to forge meaningful connections with all Stallions and Stallion families, as we collaborate to ensure the continued success of our students.

I am beyond thrilled to be a part of the Steubing family and I look forward to continue to build relationships with the students, staff, parents, and community members.
