Latia Bishop - Principal
My name is Latia Bishop and it is my pleasure to serve this extraordinary school community as Principal of Henry Steubing Elementary! The 2022 - 2023 school year will mark my twentieth year in education. I arrived at Steubing as an experienced self-contained special education teacher, a collaborative/co-teach teacher, a Special Education Area Coordinator, and an Associate Principal all in Northside ISD. I am always a teacher at heart and taught for 10 years in Northside schools. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies (Education) grades (EC - 12) from Southwest Texas State University and a Master’s of Education in Integrating Technology into the classroom from Walden University. I hold certifications in general education, special education, English as a Second Language, and Administration. In addition to my role as an educator, I am blessed to be a wife and the mother of three wonderful humans and 2 playful fur babies. They are the love of my life. I have the same expectations for them as I have for our Steubing students. I treat our students like they are my own and push them to do their very best. I want to see our students excel and become productive human beings, who have ample opportunities to become whomever they want to be in life. My educational philosophy is based on an uncompromising belief that all students can learn, given a positive learning environment, strong and knowledgeable leadership, a committed and focused educational team, an encouraging community, and a supportive family. This is why it is my privilege to lead the many talented teachers and students here at Henry Steubing Elementary!

Greetings Steubing Families, I am Brandon Tate, the newly appointed Associate Principal at Henry Steubing Elementary. I bring a diverse background in education within Northside ISD, having taught across various grade levels including 4th, 5th, 6th grade math, 8th grade math, and 8th grade history classrooms. Additionally, I've had the privilege of instructing pre-service teachers at the University of Texas at San Antonio for the last 7 years.
My educational journey includes a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from West Texas A&M University in Canyon, TX, a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership – all earned from the University of Texas at San Antonio (Birds up!). I am certified in principalship, superintendency, EC-4 generalist, 4-8 generalist, EC-12 physical education, EC-12 special education, 8-12 history, 8-12 social studies, as well as gifted and talented supplemental.
My educational philosophy is that I believe the bedrock of exceptional education is constructed upon the foundation of robust and meaningful relationships.
