Dear Chumbley Families,
My name is Jeremy Day and I am thrilled and honored to introduce myself as the principal of the brand new M’Lissa Chumbley Elementary School. As a dedicated educator with a passion for fostering academic excellence and nurturing the growth of young minds, I am eager to embark on this exciting journey alongside the vibrant families and community members.
I have spent the vast majority of my educational career in Northside ISD. I started at Allen Elementary in 1996 and have gone on to serve communities at 10 different Northside campuses as a teacher and administrator. I have been very fortunate to continue my administrative journey at Beard Elementary as principal and associate principal for the last eight years. I come from a family of educators, my mother was an instructional assistant, my father was a speech language pathologist, and my wife is currently teaching in Northside ISD.
Building a new elementary school is not only a monumental undertaking but also a profound opportunity to create a nurturing, innovative, and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive. It is my firm belief that education extends far beyond the confines of the classroom, and I am committed to collaborating closely with parents, teachers, staff, and community partners to ensure the development and success of each and every student.
At Chumbley ES, we will strive to cultivate a culture of curiosity, creativity, and kindness, where every child feels valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential. Through rigorous academics, enriching extracurricular activities, and meaningful community engagement initiatives, we aim to inspire a lifelong love of learning and equip our students with the skills, knowledge, and character traits needed to succeed in an ever-changing world.
I am genuinely excited about the possibilities that lie ahead and look forward to getting to know each and every one of you in the coming weeks and months.
