I’m Gillian Huddleston, the Vice Principal of Aue Elementary. I was honored to start my journey as Aue’s Vice Principal in the fall of 2018. Aue is truly an amazing school with wonderful students and staff! I love that I get to come to Aue every day to interact with and work with our students, teachers, parents, and community members. At Aue, we want to make the greatest positive difference in student learning and social emotional growth.
Prior to coming to Aue, I was the Instructional Specialist for Elementary Mathematics for Northside. This was a fantastic experience as I was able to collaborate with the other district core content specialists in designing curriculum and training teachers in best pedagogical practices to take back to their classrooms. I have also been an elementary campus math staff development support teacher, a middle school math coordinator, and I was a middle school math teacher for 11 years. I have had a blessed career in education.
In the fall of 2020, I will get to embark on my Educational Leadership PhD. dissertation study with the goal of graduating with my PhD next year. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies Specialized in Mathematics from the University of Texas at San Antonio. I also received my two Master’s Degrees from the University of Texas at San Antonio as well. My first Master’s is in Adult and Higher Education, and my second Master’s is in Educational Leadership.
My goal in all of my educational roles has always been to make the greatest impact for students and their learning. I am honored that I get to continue working on this goal alongside our Principal, Ursula Silberschlag, and with Aue teachers and staff.
