Before joining Northside, I worked as the Director at the Children’s Enrichment Center here in San Antonio and before that I spent several years as a classroom teacher in Montgomery County, Maryland, as well as a math facilitator. Education has been a passion of mine for over twenty years.
It is through this journey in education that I was led to school leadership. As I start my fifth year as an administrator, I feel incredibly lucky to lead alongside these amazing teachers at Aue. They inspire me to grow and learn every day.
I believe it is very important to have a community at Aue and our families and community partners are critical to our collective success. The past twenty months have challenged us all, but I feel that the connections and relationships we have between our school and our families are beyond strong. This collaborative effort is a key component in our students’ academic, social and emotional success.
I look forward to the year ahead and together we will all cultivate a dynamic learning experience, so that every day, every Gator will grow in confidence, compassion, collaboration and critical thinking.
Please do not hesitate to ask any questions or reach out with any concerns. We are all here to focus on each child and his/her success.

My name is Kimberly Twedt and I am thrilled to be the Associate Principal at Aue ES. It is such an honor to work with such incredible students, parents, staff and community! At Aue we are committed to cultivating a dynamic learning experience so that every student grows in confidence, compassion, collaboration, and critical thinking.
I am originally from Minnesota, but Texas has been my home for over 30 years. I graduated from Minnesota State University with a degree in Elementary Education and Spanish. I earned a Master of Science in Educational Leadership in 2009. I started my career teaching elementary school and after 17 years, moved to middle school to teach 6th grade English. Most recently I served as the Academic Dean at Rawlinson MS. I am looking forward to circling back to my elementary roots as Aue’s Associate Principal!
Spending time with my family, traveling, and reading are some of my favorite things to do outside of school. Students have always been at the heart of my work. Each child’s success and well-being are important to me. I look forward to working and collaborating together to make this a great year! Please feel free to reach out to me any time at kimberly.twedt@nisd.net or at (210) 397-6765.
