Project Acorn is an enrichment club that teaches environmental science and helps students to become environmentally aware of their surroundings and how to take care of it. We take data about the environment around us. The data we use is part of an international site called GLOBE. For example, air and soil temperatures, cloud coverage, rainfall measurements, cleanliness of water, and relative humidity. We also teach students about native plants and trees and how to plant them. We are fortunate enough to ride our "Creek Patrol" bikes down to the Leon Creek at O.P. Schnabel to take GLOBE measurements and learn about the native plants surrounding us.
