Joining ORCHESTRA at JEFFERSON MIDDLE SCHOOL can be the most exciting part of middle school! Participating in ORCHESTRA teaches and requires discipline, responsibility, dedication, leadership, coordination, determination, courage, pride, perseverance, team-building and sportsmanship.  We want YOU to be a part of the Orchestra Program and see why Orchestra students love it!!!

Here’s what to expect:

  • You’re going to learn how to read music.
  • You’re going to get to be a part of a great TEAM and our Orchestra family! 

 

Any student can join orchestra. NO MUSIC KNOWLEDGE or BACKGROUND is needed.  WE teach you EVERYTHING you need to know!! Satisfaction guaranteed!! 

 

You can choose from any of these four instruments:  violin, viola, cello, or bass.  In ORCHESTRA, you will play 3-4 concerts during the school year.  Orchestra meets everyday; it is built into the school day!  We will also have a Solo/Ensemble contest and will even have a few field trips each year where we will play in the community.  A few favorites among the students are the annual Peter Piper Pizza, Fiesta Texas, the Symphony, and a Spurs Game field trip! 


Tax Rate Notice
This year's levy to fund maintenance and operations expenditures exceeds last year's maintenance and operations tax levy.
Northside Independent School District ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR'S TAX RATE.
THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 1.05 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $30.00.
