I am truly honored and excited to serve as the Principal of McDermott Elementary School. With more than 20 years of experience in Northside ISD, I have dedicated my career to supporting student success and fostering strong school communities.
My educational journey began in 2005 as a 1st grade teacher in Northside ISD. I later taught 3rd grade before serving as a Math Specialist at Fisher Elementary. In 2014, I transitioned into campus leadership as a Vice Principal, serving at both Westwood Terrace and Cable Elementary. Most recently, I had the privilege of serving as the Principal of John Glenn Elementary for the past seven and a half years.
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and Administrator Certification from The University of Texas at San Antonio. Go Runners!
At McDermott, I am committed to building meaningful partnerships with our students, families, staff, and community. I believe that when we work together with a shared vision and purpose, we create an environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. My goal is to ensure that all students are challenged, supported, and inspired to become lifelong learners and responsible citizens.
I look forward to getting to know each of you and becoming part of the Falcon family. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions, ideas, or concerns. Together, we will continue to make McDermott Elementary an exceptional place for students to learn and grow.
Proud to be a Falcon!

Hello Falcon Families,
I am thrilled to be a part of the McDermott family. It is my honor and privilege to serve as your Associate Principal.
This year will be my seventeenth year in education, and my eleventh in Northside. I began my teaching career in 2006 as a 2nd grade teacher in Edgewood ISD. I joined Northside ISD in 2013 as a 4th grade teacher at Passmore and proceeded to Glenoaks as a Math Specialist. Soon after, I had the opportunity to serve as an Admin Intern at Glenn and McDermott.
I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 2006, and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction in 2014, both from Our Lady of the Lake University. In 2021, I continued on to receive my Masters in Educational Leadership from UT Tyler.
I was born and raised in San Antonio, and am a proud product of Northside. I assure you I am dedicated to each and every one of our students and I truly believe all students can and will learn. I am so excited to be a part of the McDermott community and family. I look forward to helping our little falcons be the best they can be!

lawrence.beebe@nisd.netLawrence BeebeAdministrator InternMy name is Lawrence Beebe and I am very excited to join the Robert F. McDermott team as the new Administrator Intern. I have been teaching in Northside for the past 22 years. I began my education career in 2003 as an instructional assistant at John Jay high school. I then moved to Braun Station Elementary. When I got my teacher certification I moved to Carlos Coon Elementary where I worked for several years as a fourth grade classroom teacher. Most recently I have worked for the past 12 years as the gifted and talented/enrichment specialist at Hoffmann Elementary.
I received my bachelor’s degree from UTSA in 2007, a master’s degree in integrated science curriculum and instruction from Our Lady of the Lake in 2011, and another master’s degree in education administration from UTSA in 2018. I believe in being a lifelong learner and hope to pass this belief on to our little Falcons!
I look forward to getting to know all of our Falcon students and families and helping to create an effective learning team with them. I know that all students can learn and their potential is only limited by our expectations of them.
