NISD's mission is to provide all NISD students who are eligible to ride the bus a safe, efficient, nurturing environment that supports the educational and extra-curricular objectives of the district.


Northside ISD continues to enforce its “No Shots, No School” policy. Texas law requires all public school children have current immunizations in order to attend class.

Belinda Treviño - Principal
Belinda Trevino is an educator committed to meeting individual needs of each and every student. Mrs. Trevino has spent all 29 years as an educator in NISD at various campuses in different roles and capacities, 12 of those years as an administrator. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Texas A and I University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from UTSA.
Amanda Garner-Maskill - Vice Principal

The Vice-Principal also serves as the Campus Behavior Coordinator.

Mrs. Amanda Garner-Maskill first moved to San Antonio temporarily from Pennsylvania to complete her student teaching in NISD. Following graduation from Millersville University in Lancaster, Pennsylvania she relocated to San Antonio permanently. She began her teaching career working in special education providing students with learning and behavior support. Mrs. Maskill worked as a District Behavior Specialist supporting elementary schools across the district.

She began her Masters in Educational Leadership with UTSA and began teaching 5th grade. She has been serving the McDermott Family as an administrator since July of 2017 and is currently working on her doctorate from UTSA.
Gabriel Best (Intern) - Academic Dean
Mr. Best is a honorably retired U.S. Army veteran of 22.5 years and is currently in his 19th year as a Northside ISD bilingual educator. With over 40 years of public service to multicultural individuals, groups and communities, Mr. Best continues to be a lifelong learner. He has two graduate degrees (MSW, M.Ed.) from Our Lady of the Lake University, San Antonio and pursued a Ph.D(abd) from Texas State University, San Marcos. Mr. Best has used his skill set to meet the needs of two high schools and is currently serving the McDermott community. He volunteers as a coach for water polo, health services and provides dance instruction. Mr. Best is the lucky husband of a beautiful woman, a father of six nerdy adult children and a blessed grandfather of six amazing grandchildren.
