NISD Story Fest 2024
Storyfest will be on May 18, 2024 at the Northside Activities Center. We would love to have your elementary students participate in the annual art contest. AND this year we have added back the writing contest.
Art Contest (open to all students including PreK)
The focus must be on the theme “If You Give a Child a Book”.
Must be on an 8 ½ by 11-inch paper
Student's FIRST and LAST name and SCHOOL must be clearly marked on the back of the entry.
Writing Contest Rules (open to students in 2nd-5th grades only)
Focus must be on the theme “If you Give a Child a Book”
Typed or handwritten short story or poem on one side of an 8 ½ x 11” paper
Student's FIRST and LAST name and SCHOOL must be clearly marked on the back of the entry.
Only one entry per child. This means that if a student submits a writing piece for the writing contest, they may not submit a piece for the art contest.
Please discuss the attachments with your students and send the flyers home. The theme for both contests is “If You Give a Child a Book”.
Each campus librarian will select winners from their campus.
1 winner = Prek-1st grade (art contest)
1 winner = 2nd-5th (art contest),
1 winner = Writing contest.
Each campus will have a total of 3 submissions
All winning entries must be mounted on a 9 x 13 piece of paper
Winning entries are due to Sarah Day or Deanna O'Marah at the Library PD, on Monday, February 19th. No late entries will be accepted!
Please email Sarah Day or Deanna O’Marah if you have any questions.
