WWT ROBOTICS CLUB
The WWT Robotics can consist of up to 6 members. Members are a mix of 4th and 5th graders. Robotics is a school sponsored club that uses the Lego Mindstorm EV3 Robot to build and program. The robot will be programmed to complete a set of missions supplied by First Lego League. WE DO NOT BUILD LEGOS! This is important to understand. The team will be selected based on the applications submitted. Two WWT teachers will review and rank the applications. FIRST LEGO League (FLL® ) challenges kids to think like scientists and engineers. Teams will choose and solve a real-world problem. They will also build, test, and program an autonomous robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS® EV3 technology to solve a set of missions in the Robot Game. Throughout their experience, teams will operate under FLL’s signature set of Core Values, celebrating discovery, teamwork, and Gracious Professionalism®.
NO PRIOR Lego MINDSTORM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. But there are a few requirements
∙ Student must be self-motivated in work
∙ Student can spend 30 minutes per week outside of meetings on Robotics related homework/tasks
∙ Student are willing to work on tasks outside their comfort zone
∙ Student class conduct must be of the highest quality
∙ Students can work in a team focused environment
