The Gifted and Talented program strives to inspire identified gifted students to utilize their talents and intellect to their full potential within a rigorous academic environment. Students are able to choose the core content area they receive their daily GT services in: English Language Arts, Science or Social Studies. The GT program will promote complex levels of thinking by working collaboratively, seeking innovative solutions, and challenging their unique, creative abilities. Strategies taught within the program include depth and complexity, inquiry based learning and project based learning activities.
Students are screened biannually for the Gifted and Talented program based on nominations from educators, parents, or students themselves. The fall and spring testing sessions are comprised of four academic tests combined with a Gifted and Talented indicator completed by both educator and parent for observable GT qualities.
