Student Issued NISD Devices
Northside ISD works hard to provide a mobile device for every student to participate in classwork. As the 2023-24 school year approaches, all students have automatically opted into Northside’s technology lending program and will be issued an appropriate mobile device. If your student will be using a personally-owned device this year, or if you would otherwise prefer that your student not receive a district mobile device, please review the agreement and decline/opt-out online.
Additionally, students who have an outstanding mobile checked out to them through the District may not receive another until the device is returned or other arrangements are made with campus staff.
Distribution dates and processes may vary by campus. For any specific questions about device distribution, please contact the campus front office.
Chargers
During the 2023-2024 school year, Northside ISD campuses will begin assessing charges for any damaged or lost student mobile device chargers.
Per the Student Mobile Device Lending Agreement, by taking possession of a student-assigned charger, the parent agrees to be responsible as follows:
- Basic care and security of the charger on and off school premises.
- Reporting charger problems, breakage, or damage immediately to campus staff.
- A replacement cost due to intentional damage, damage due to neglect, or accident.
- Replacement costs due to charger loss for any reason (ie. theft, fire, flood, lightning, or any other cause).
- Ensuring the return of the assigned charger to NISD at the conclusion of the academic year, upon withdrawal from a Northside ISD campus, when transferring to another Northside campus, and/or when requested by NISD.
By default, all students are opted-in to this agreement for the school year, unless a parent explicitly opts their student out from receiving a mobile device and charger.
